Window Film is a vinyl plastic sheet used to provide UV protection, privacy, safety & security. Window Film can also be used as a decorative application.
Window film is usually dyed or matallized with optic grade metal fragments and has an adhesive side so that it can be applied to windows to offer various benefits not offered by ordinary panes of glass. Window Film was first developed in the early 1960's and the original objective of window film was to provide a solution to problems related to solar heat and glare and to help prevent the warming of surfaces within buildings and to reflect back radiation and UVA light.
Window Film is available in many forms which function differently for the intended purpose of installation.
Examples of Window Film types include:
Safety Window Film that is a clear Window Film designed to provide safety and provides the capability to comply with Heath, Safety & Welfare Regulations.
Impact and Bomb Blast Resistant Window Film which provides protection from flying shards of glass due to accidental impact, vandalism or terrorist attack.
Frosted or Dyed Window Film which provides a measure of privacy and helps to reduce solar glare and UVA light penetration.
Mirror Window Film that provides an enhanced measure of privacy and greatly reduces solar glare.
Decorative Window Film that provides an enhanced visual look to plain glass windows.
